robert_rumery : Hello and welcome to another edition of Allpoetry.com's Poet Interviews. This month I am interviewing WarpedSenseOfLife. So let's get this show on the road!!
gutterballgal: Hi ....glad u could interview me ...I feel so privledged
robert_rumery: Well your welcome. Let's start out by you introducing yourself.
gutterballgal: Well I'm a 17 yr old nobody girl from North Carolina who's still in High School and I write in my spare time, not much to me
robert_rumery: Well it's nice to meet you.
robert_rumery: Do you have any influences? I mean on the way you write.
gutterballgal: mainly life experiemces, not the suicide stuff ....that's more fiction than reality
robert_rumery: That's nice to know. When did you start writing?
gutterballgal: about 2 years ago
robert_rumery: Any reason why decided to start writing?
gutterballgal: why does anyone start writing? ...I fell in love, I needed a creative outlet, I always enjoyed using my words to say things rather than my actions
robert_rumery: Most kids know a days write poetry because there angry or that something in their life isn't right. It seems like poetry has made a come back in the younger generation. I mean I remember reading Edgar Alan Poe as a young kid thinking he was a madman and a genuis at the same time. Do you think poetry has become more of a stres releiver than an art form as of late?
gutterballgal: in some ways I think it has ....but when you think about it ...could not Poe's Anabelle Lee have been a stress reliever for the loss of his wife/cousin? ...it is also considered a masterpiece.
robert_rumery: Yes, it could of been. Poe did some abnormal stuff back in his day, do you think poetry would be the same today without Poe, Dickinson, or Frost?
gutterballgal: no I don't believe it would be the same ....the style and concepts that Poe, Dickinson, and Frost contributed to the literary world is unmatched
robert_rumery: So your basically saying, the poetry world wouldn't be the same without these three, like the musical world wouldn't be the same if ozzy osbourne didn't meet Randy Rhoads?
gutterballgal: absolutely ....the Ozzy/ Rhoads match up .....is definately of the same calibar of the contributions of those poets
robert_rumery: True. what poet do you enjoy reading?
gutterballgal: I enjoy Poe ....but ironically considering the poetry I write ....I enjoy reading the children's poet Shel Silverstein
robert_rumery: Do you think being in High School makes you write diffrently, say you weren't in High School, do you think you wouldn't write the way you do?
gutterballgal: I'm sure some of my writing would be different, for instance I wouldn't have the added stress of graduating and maintaining my grades so my GPA doesn't drop my senior year.
robert_rumery: What are you thoughts on people that considerd young poets and song writers 'emo'?
gutterballgal: I think some could be considered 'emo' ....but I think before they classify it as 'emo' they should look at each particular piece and determine what the author was trying to convey ....for instance I don't see any of my own poetry as emo but someone else might see it that way
robert_rumery: Well how about this ' all poets are depressed' generelazation, how does that make you feel as a poet yourself?
gutterballgal: upset actually .....it's like saying all old people are senile ....you can't just make a general statement and expect it to apply to everybody
robert_rumery: Are there any bands/singers that influence the way you write?
gutterballgal: Yes ....Ozzy Osbourne, Avril Lavigne, GREEN DAY, Nickelback, Stain'd ....and a few others ....pretty much I'll hear a line and change it around and just start writing off of that
obert_rumery: SHARRRROOOOOOOON!!!!!! [ Laughs] Know back on subject, well my final question. If some young person came to you for poetry advice, what would you tell them?
robert_rumery: And no you can't say ' Go find Rob, he's the real poet, you need real advice!'
gutterballgal: write what comes to your mind ....the first thing that comes to your mind is usually the best and the most true to your heart
robert_rumery: Thank you for your time, you can find her poetry at www.allpoetry.com/warpedsenseoflife
gutterballgal: thank you for interviewing me and making me feel special:)
robert_rumery: Your welcome, and good night from Allpoetry.com
